Welcome to Notes. This is just a little list of things I’m enjoying and want to share with you!
what I’m reading
The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion: I’m halfway through the series and really enjoying it. Emma is hilarious and I’m excited to see how the story continues to unfold.
Disciplines of Devotion: I’ve been slowly working my way through this series. So far, I’ve read Sabbath Rest and Bible Study, and I’m so grateful for these short, accessible resources to recommend to women.
for the kids
The Mansoul Chronicles, Book 2: The Schemes & Snares of Diabolus from Lithos Kids: After trying so many resources over the years to help disciple our kids, I can wholeheartedly recommend anything from Lithos Kids. Their content is biblically faithful and presents deep truths in a way that children can truly understand.
A few months ago, we started our journey through The Mansoul Chronicles, and Book 2 recently released! Diabolus has returned and is set on revenge—but this time, his approach is far more subtle. Will the town of Mansoul fall for his schemes, or remain watchful as they wait for Emmanuel’s return? Inspired by John Bunyan’s The Holy War, I think this series does such a fantastic job of giving kids a picture of what our spiritual battle is actually like. You can also follow along with the audio on your Yoto Player. Thank you to the publisher for a copy in exchange for an honest review.
New Yoto cards: My oldest started reading The Magic Treehouse at school (how nostalgic!), so we grabbed the bundle and the Yoto Daily Draw Along.
Looking for a “Big Kid” Bible? We’re still loving the ESV Biggest Story Bible. It is full text and includes book introductions, character profiles, prompts to help kids learn and apply Scripture, and more. While I would personally prefer the CSB translation for his age, ESV is what’s used at school and church. That said, I also highly recommend the CSB Explorer Bible! We used it prior to switching to ESV, and it’s such a great option. There are different cover designs available as well.
other things
RingConn: Since I have an autoimmune disease, I’ve been interested in using a smart ring to better understand how my body is doing day to day. A few months ago, I started researching more seriously and came across RingConn Smart Ring as a more budget-friendly option that still offers the kind of insights I’m looking for. If this is something you’ve been curious about, I’ll keep sharing updates as I use it! You can also grab the sizing kit for $1 to see if it’s a good fit.
On repeat lately: The Dawn Patrol album and LIN D
I finally purchased alcohol ink markers and why didn’t I do this sooner? It’s really upgraded my coloring game!
Tell me: What are you reading, loving, or excited about this week? I’d love to hear!
